Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA) of New Jersey Selected Cooper Pest Solutions as the Best Renovated Building
Lawrenceville, NJ – The Cooper Pest Solutions headquarters located at 2495 Brunswick Pike, Suite 10, Lawrenceville, NJ in the Lawrence Shopping Center, has been selected as the 2019 BOMA NJ Outstanding Building of the Year in the Renovated Building category. This prestigious award is bestowed upon one building per year upon extensive application submission and an on-site visit from BOMA judges.
In December of 2017, we started renovations to the abandoned RetroFitness® building in the Lawrence Shopping Center, which was much in need of rejuvenation. The free standing building underwent several changes while keeping sustainability in mind. Where a large unoccupied space with only gym equipment once stood, we turned the building into meeting rooms, remote working spaces for movement and flow, an entire customer service call center, and office spaces for management. All spaces were created not only for sustainability, but also with all consideration for the needs of all generations. The Cooper staff spans 5 generations, so adding in elements to make everyone feel at home and to maximize productivity was one of the top priorities.
The building renovations were made with sustainability in mind, keeping as many existing elements as possible and reducing impacts on the environment. An entirely new storage warehouse was created to keep all of the pesticides and necessary materials for the pest control technician staff to function each day. This was constructed by knocking down part of the locker room and relocating the lockers to a centralized locker area for use by the staff.
Phil Cooper, Senior Director of Terminix Specialty Brands and lead innovator in the development of the Cooper Pest Solutions headquarters, notes, “Our new Cooper headquarters is a true expression of the Cooper culture. When we renovated the RetroFitness® gym, we created a fun environment that promotes organizational efficiency and provides our team with a building that is easy to maintain. We also focused on reducing operating costs by using smart materials and systems. Winning the TOBY renovated category is a validation of all of our efforts, and we are humbled to accept the award.”
