Volcano, developed by our entomologist Jeff White, is an interception device that captures bed bugs.  Its discreet size and shape allow it to be used in a variety of environments, way beyond the devices that are currently in the market.  Activ contains a bed bug lure developed by Rutgers University (in the same lab that Richard Cooper is receiving his doctorate), and BedBug Central has partnered with Rutgers to bring this revolutionary product to market.

How does our Bed Bug Assurance Service work?

For current clients with an existing home service with Cooper, we will install our Volcano monitors with Active lures during your next service. The monitors will be discreetly placed in those areas of your home that are most likely to have bed bug activity- the bedrooms and the most active couch within your home.  At this time, we will let you know how to ACTIVELY inspect the monitors and what to do if you suspect Bed bugs.  In total, 2 Volcano monitors will be installed for each bedroom and one for the couch in the common area.  During each exterior visit, we will provide you with replacement Activ Lures for each of your Volcano devices.  If you would prefer for Cooper to service the devices once per quarter, this can also be arranged.

• How will I know if Bed bugs are captured in the monitors? Don’t worry; we will show you how to check the monitors.

• What if I suspect there are Bed bugs in my monitors? Just give us a call, and we will be right over to collect a sample. You can also text or e-mail a photo to our Customer Care Team as well. If we positivel  confirm a bed bug infestation, we will begin treatment ASAP.

• What about the lures in the devices, what do I need to know about them? The lures have a very light an pleasant grapefruit smell that is designed to attract Bed bugs. They are safe for humans and pets. Every quarter as part of your quarterly service, we will leave behind new lures, and you can easily replace the existing lures in the Volcanos.
