Local Business Owner Top Fundraiser for Bike MS:City to Shore 2008
Lawrenceville, N.J. -- On September 27th and 28th more then 1,200 volunteers and over 7,000 cyclists rode more then 150 miles to support research, programs, and services for people with multiple sclerosis in the largest-ever Bike MS City to Shore Ride.
Of the top 250 fundraisers for the event, local business owner, Phillip Cooper, was ranked #7 in fundraising efforts raising more than $20,000. Phillip Cooper, President of Cooper Pest Solutions, has participated in this event for the past 15 years.
"I am passionate about the MS 150 and will continue to ride until we find a cure," said Cooper. "Not only do I ride, but everyone in my company participates in some manner or another, from riding to volunteering. It just is one of the ways we believe in giving back to the community."
Riders were given the option of various cycling routes ranging from a 25-mile rous to a 175-mile route with rest stops along the way. The City to Shore Bike Tour traveled through eighteen townships in New Jersey in just two days.
"It was a great event to volunteer at and I wish I could have ridden as well," said Lauren Wilson, one of the 1,200 volunteers at the event. "The amount of support here for these riders and this cause is overwhelming and I am excited to be part of this."
